Almost every business that writes to us from here arrives with the full list: website, social media, ads, reviews, videos. What is missing is the order and the calendar. That is what this article is about: what to do with digital marketing in L'Hospitalet in the first month, what at three months, and what only starts working once you have been at it for a year.

A big market running at two speeds
L'Hospitalet has 282,299 residents in 12.40 km², according to the municipality in figures published by Idescat: more than 23,500 people per square kilometre, the highest density in Spain. But the figure that explains how you compete here is another one.
Of the 109,215 general-scheme registrations tied to accounts in the city, 58,715 belong to companies with 250 employees or more and only 12,785 to accounts with up to nine. Alongside them, 14,300 people are registered as self-employed, 11,440 of them in services. Translated: the big employment is concentrated in a handful of organisations —the trade fair, the hospitals, conference hospitality— and the rest of the market is shared out among thousands of small businesses competing for the same neighbourhood customers.
Retail alone generates 1,260.1 million euros of gross value added a year in the city. The money is there. What is not there is room to spend it badly.
The first 30 days: what you fix at almost no cost
Nothing gets bought in the first month. What you already have gets sorted out, and it is almost always half done.
The Google profile, in full
The right main category, services listed one by one, real opening hours —bank holidays included—, the address with the entrance properly placed, and photos you took yourself. Google combines relevance, distance and prominence to decide who to show, and in a city this compact distance changes from street to street. It is explained step by step in our guide to the Google Business Profile.
The first screen of the website
What you do, where, and the phone number and WhatsApp in plain sight without scrolling. If somebody has to hunt for how to contact you, half of them are already gone. This takes an afternoon and it returns more enquiries per euro than anything else.
Who answers, and how fast
The part nobody counts as marketing and that decides more sales than any campaign. Put a deadline in writing —two hours during business hours, say— and decide who replies when the owner is with a customer. A WhatsApp answered in ten minutes beats a better website that replies the next day.

From day 30 to 90: what starts moving the needle
With the basics sorted, the second stretch is about building. Here you do invest, but in things that stay.
One page per service
Not a "services" page with eight paragraphs: one for each thing you sell, written in the words customers use. It is the foundation of SEO in L'Hospitalet, where we explain why naming only the city is not enough. If the site you have does not even allow that, it is a different conversation and we cover it in web design in L'Hospitalet.
Reviews, done systematically
Ask every time, right when the customer is happy, and answer all of them. Within a fifteen-minute radius there are dozens of businesses like yours: between two similar ones, the winner is the one with reviews from this quarter and somebody replying. The method is in how to get Google reviews.
From 90 to 365: what only works with consistency
The third stretch is the one almost everybody abandons, which is exactly why it has the least competition.
- Content, every month. Articles that answer real customer questions. A good one keeps bringing visits two years later.
- Posts on the profile with news, offers or finished work. A stalled profile ages; a moving one shows up more.
- Presence in AI answers. When somebody asks a model which business it recommends around here, it answers with what it has read. That is GEO positioning, and without material of your own there is nothing to cite.
- Campaigns, if appropriate. Short radius and schedule matched to when you can answer, never "province of Barcelona".
At twelve months the difference between doing this and not doing it shows in one figure: how many people arrive searching for what you do rather than for your name.

What changes depending on the type of business
The calendar is the same, but the weight of each piece is not. For a high-street shop the map and the photos of the premises decide it: people choose whether to walk in before they reach the door. For a service that travels —builders, locksmiths, electricians— the area decides: you have to name the neighbourhoods and municipalities you cover, or you get calls from places you do not want. For an appointment-based practice, what decides is how easy it is to book without phoning. And if you sell to other companies, the map matters little while the website, case studies and quote turnaround matter a lot.
That is why the first meeting always starts the same way: where your customers come from today and which of them you want more of.
What not to do in the first month
- Opening five social accounts. One done properly is enough; five abandoned ones make it obvious nobody is behind them.
- Switching on ads before you have somewhere to send people. Paying for clicks to a site that explains nothing is giving money away.
- Rebuilding the whole website without knowing what is failing. Sometimes the problem is three paragraphs and one photo.
- Competing for "Barcelona" from day one. It costs far more and brings enquiries that will not cross the city.
What to measure in each stretch
One number per stretch and no more:
- At 30 days: calls and direction requests coming out of the Google profile. That should already be moving.
- At 90: how many visits reach the site searching for services rather than for your name.
- At a year: how many enquiries each channel brought and how many became customers.
And a check you can run today: step outside, take your phone and search for your service plus "L'Hospitalet". If you are not in the map or on the first screen, you already know where next month starts.

What each stretch costs
Our prices are published. For the first stretch, the 100 € a month landing or the 200 € site with up to ten subpages —both with hosting, domain, email and maintenance included— plus a tidy profile already put you in the map.
For the second and third, the 400 € a month plan adds 10 mailboxes, 3 monthly articles, 3 posts on your Google profile, every review answered and GEO positioning. The 750 € one goes to 5 and 5 with campaigns, and the 1,500 € one to 7 and 7 with social media. No lock-in, VAT on top and migration included.
Custom software, process automation and AI audits are quoted per project, because the price depends on what has to be built.
If you sell to companies rather than the public
In a city with the trade fair, hospitals and industrial estates, plenty of businesses invoice other businesses. There the map matters less and the website, concrete case studies and how fast a quote goes out matter more. The Barcelona Chamber of Commerce publishes events and training for companies across the metropolitan area, and it is a good place to start moving offline.
We work from Palamós for the Barcelona area
Our office is in Palamós and we look after businesses across the province. The day-to-day work —researching searches, writing, fixing the site, reviewing campaigns and measuring— runs just as well over a video call with a shared screen. We come in person when it adds something: the first meeting, seeing the premises and taking the photos the profile needs.
If you want to know which stretch you are in, message us on WhatsApp with the name of your business. We will look at your profile, your site and what comes up when somebody searches for you from L'Hospitalet, and tell you what we would do over the next thirty days. No strings, same day.
Tell us what you need and we'll give you a price
