What a cookie is
A cookie is a small file a website stores in your browser when you visit. It is used to remember information between pages or between visits: from the language you chose to the behaviour recorded by advertising and analytics tools.
Cookies used by this site
On the pages of the site, none. This site installs no first-party or third-party cookies, uses no analytics tools or advertising pixels, and builds no browsing profiles. That is why you won't see a cookie banner asking for permission: there is nothing to consent to. The only exception is the campaign pages explained just below.
You can check this yourself at any time by opening your browser's developer tools and looking at the storage section.
Campaign pages: Google Ads measurement, only if you accept
Some pages that only serve as destinations for our ads, such as magnesfactory.com/llar/ and landings.magnesfactory.com, ask you on arrival whether you accept the Google Ads measurement cookies (Google Ireland Limited). If you accept, the Google tag stores the «_gcl_au» and «_gcl_aw» cookies in your browser, which last 90 days, and tells us whether someone who arrived from an ad then wrote to us on WhatsApp or sent the form. That is how we know which ads work. If you send us the form, the tag also sends Google your email address irreversibly encrypted (a «hash») to link the submission to the ad click, and records the visit in Google Analytics without storing cookies. We use none of this for remarketing or to show you advertising.
If you reject them, or until you decide, those pages load nothing from Google. Your choice is stored in your own browser («mf_consent_ads», in local storage) for 13 months, and you can change it at any time from the «Cookies» link in the footer of those pages.
External services that do load
Even without cookies, the page needs to load two resources hosted outside our server. In doing so, your browser connects to them and those providers receive your IP address and the standard technical details of the request:
- Fontshare (Indian Type Foundry), for the site's typefaces.
- jsDelivr, for the library that displays the three-dimensional models on the team page.
- Neither installs cookies on this domain nor receives any personal data you have given us.
How to control cookies in your browser
Even though it isn't needed here, you can manage or delete cookies from any website in your browser settings:
- Google Chrome
- Mozilla Firefox
- Safari
- Microsoft Edge
- Bear in mind that blocking cookies across the board may affect how other sites that do rely on them behave.
If this changes
If we ever add analytics, advertising or any tool that uses cookies, we will update this page and show the corresponding consent notice before installing them, as the rules require.
