Web design in Girona: what it costs and what you should demand

The same website can be quoted at €400 or €6,000, and neither of them is lying to you. Here is what sits behind each figure, what a site needs to bring you customers in Girona, and what we charge — which is published.

An accountancy firm in the Eixample, a workshop in Salt and a restaurant that lives off the summer season all ask for the same thing —«a website»— and get three quotes that look nothing alike. The difference is almost never the design: it is whether the site merely exists or is built so that people around here actually find you. This is what you should know before hiring web design in Girona.

Web design in Girona: what you pay for and what you get

Three kinds of provider work in this province, and they are worth telling apart, because all three advertise themselves the same way.

  • The cheapest one (€300 to €700): a purchased template, filled with your text and handed over. It gets you a presence and little else. When you want to change something later, you either pay per change or live with what you have.
  • The design studio (€1,500 to €4,000): custom design, a proper structure and a site that looks very good. The weak point is usually what comes after: it is delivered and the relationship ends, with nobody keeping it alive.
  • The agency that stays (monthly fee): the site is part of a service with hosting, mailboxes, changes and content. Over five years it costs more if you never touch anything — but almost nobody leaves a website untouched for five years.

None of the three is wrong in itself. What hurts is paying for the second and receiving the first, which happens more often than you would think. If someone shows you a design two days in, it is almost certainly a template.

What makes a Girona business website work

A beautiful site nobody visits is an expensive leaflet. These are the four things that separate a decorative website from one that brings work, and they rarely appear itemised in a quote.

  • Text written for what people actually search. Nobody types «integrated solutions» into Google. They type «emergency plumber Girona» or «payroll advisor Salt». If those words are not on your site, you are not there.
  • Speed on mobile. More than half your visits arrive from a phone, often on patchy coverage. A page that takes four seconds loses the visitor before a single line gets read.
  • A structure Google understands. One page per service, proper heading levels and contact details marked up with local business structured data so the search engine knows where you are and what you do.
  • Somewhere to be contacted. A visible phone number, WhatsApp one tap away and a short form. The more fields, the fewer messages.

The detail that decides whether they find you: your Google listing

In local searches, the Google Business listing carries as much weight as the site. When somebody searches «carpenter Girona» on their phone, the first thing they see is the map with three listings, and you do not get in there by having a pretty website: you get in by having a complete listing, with the right category, opening hours, recent photos and answered reviews. The official Google Business Profile documentation explains how to verify it, which is the step most people skip. We publish articles on the Google listing for exactly that reason: a listing with activity outranks an abandoned one.

How much web design in Girona costs: our published prices

There is no hidden rate card here, so here it is. We work on a monthly fee because the site stays alive rather than delivered and forgotten. All prices are plus VAT and live on the pricing page:

  • Your Landing, €100 a month. A single page with high-performance hosting and one mailbox on your own domain. For anyone who needs to explain what they do and collect enquiries.
  • Your Website, €200 a month. A full site of up to ten subpages, two mailboxes and one article a month so the site does not go stale.
  • Basic Presence, €400 a month. All of the above plus site and email migration, ten mailboxes, three monthly articles on your site and three on your Google listing, replies to every review, and positioning inside AI answers.
  • Mid Presence, €750 a month. Five articles on the site and five on the listing, fifteen mailboxes, and Google Ads and Meta Ads campaign management.
  • Advanced Presence, €1,500 a month. Seven and seven, twenty-five mailboxes, campaigns and two monthly posts on your social channels.

If your business meets the requirements, a good part of this can be covered by the Kit Digital programme, for which we are an accredited digitalising agent. It is not always worth routing the project through it, and we will say so before we start.

And if you also want to be found

The website is the shop window; SEO is the street people walk down. You can build an excellent site and stay invisible on Google for months because nobody worked on the content. That is why the plans include articles: every text you publish is one more door for someone searching for what you do in Girona, Figueres or Palafrugell.

Template, custom design or custom software

For most businesses in the province, a well-executed custom design on a solid base is enough. The template-versus-bespoke argument matters far less than the static-versus-maintained one.

It is a different matter when the site has to actually do something: bookings with real availability, a private client area, a link to your management software or a catalogue that updates itself every night. That is no longer design, that is custom software, and it is quoted by what has to be built rather than by page count. If someone offers you that at corporate-website prices, be suspicious.

Realistic timelines

A landing page can be live in two or three weeks. A ten-page site takes four to eight. And now the uncomfortable part: what delays projects is almost never the design, it is the text and the photos when the client has to supply them. If we write them, the deadline is ours to keep; if you write them, the project moves at the speed of your free evenings.

To get going we need very little: access to your current domain, your logo if you have one, the list of services as you actually sell them, and your contact details. That is enough to start.

How to choose who builds your website in Girona

Five questions that save you trouble, and you can ask them over the phone in five minutes:

  • Whose name is the domain registered under? It has to be yours, no discussion.
  • Who writes the copy and who supplies the photos?
  • What happens when I want to change something in six months, and what does it cost?
  • Are hosting, backups and email on my own domain included?
  • What do you do to get the site into Google beyond handing it over?

Ask to see two or three sites they have built, then search Google for what those businesses sell. If none of them show up for their own service, you have your answer.

If you are looking for web design in Girona and are not sure what you need, tell us and we will say in the first conversation which option fits. And if we think a €100-a-month landing page is all you need, we will say that too, even when it suits us to sell you something bigger.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions about web design in Girona

How much does web design in Girona cost?+

As a one-off, the market runs from €300 for a filled-in template to €4,000 for a custom-designed corporate site. We work on a monthly fee instead: €100 a month for a landing page and €200 a month for a site of up to ten pages, with hosting, email and maintenance included, plus VAT.

How long does it take to get the site live?+

A landing page, two to three weeks. A ten-page site, four to eight. What delays a project is rarely the design; it is the copy and the photos when the client has to provide them. If we write them, the deadline holds.

Does the website include showing up on Google?+

Publishing a site does not make it appear. It is delivered ready — structure, speed, copy aimed at what people search — and from there positioning is ongoing work. That is why our plans include monthly articles on the site and on the Google listing.

Do you only work in the city of Girona?+

We work across the province and in Barcelona as well. Our office is in Palamós, half an hour from Girona, and we have clients in Figueres, Olot, Blanes, Salt, Banyoles and along the Costa Brava. Much of the work is remote, with in-person meetings when they are needed.

Is the website mine if I pay monthly?+

The domain is registered in your name and the hosting, email and analytics accounts are yours. If you decide to leave one day, you take the site and the mailboxes with you, no argument. It is worth asking any provider the same question.

Do you build online shops or booking websites?+

Yes, but that is no longer plain web design. Once the site has to handle availability, payments, private areas or a connection to your management software, it is quoted as custom software — by what has to be built, not by page count.
