There is one figure that changes digital marketing in Sant Cugat and almost nobody looks at it: the town has 3.229 registered employer accounts and 59.900 general-scheme social security registrations in workplaces located here, 52.055 of them in services, according to Idescat, while employed residents number 45.879. In other words, every morning people come in to work who do not live here, and they buy things too.

The two Sant Cugat audiences that never overlap
The first is the resident. They decide in the evening and at weekends, compare three options before writing to anyone and ask in the school or club group chat. The second is the person who commutes in: they decide midweek, almost always between twelve and three, and look for whatever is near the office.
You do not win them with the same campaign, at the same price or at the same time of day. And some businesses only have one of the two, so the first job is knowing which one is yours.
What each one buys
- The resident: renovations, clinics, dentists, activities for the children, advisers, services you think about and sign up to for years.
- The person working here: food, coffee, the gym, a quick haircut, repairs, anything that fits into a break or on the way back to the car.
- Both at once: garages, opticians, pharmacies, vets. Here the fight is about opening hours, not about the message.
Timing matters more than wording
If you sell to the commuter, your digital shop window has to be awake at half eleven in the morning, not at eight in the evening. If you sell to the resident, your posts and your ads earn their keep between nine and eleven at night and on Sundays. It is the cheapest adjustment there is and almost nobody touches it: same budget, different split across the day.
It comes with an awkward consequence: somebody has to answer during that window. There is no point attracting people at the right hour if the reply lands two days later.

The ad radius, with actual place names
Sant Cugat sits inside the Barcelona metropolitan area, and that shows when you set up campaigns: open the radius without thinking and you end up paying for clicks from half the province. Google explains how location targeting is adjusted, and the list of metropolitan towns is on the AMB site.
In practice we run two campaigns. One tight to the town plus Valldoreix, Mira-sol and La Floresta, for residents. Another that adds Rubí, Cerdanyola and Barcelona, but office hours only, for people who work here or pass through.

Which digital marketing channel comes first
Always the same order: first be findable when people are already looking for you, then go after those who do not know you. Google business profile and a decent website before anything else, and that is what the SEO in Sant Cugat article is for. Ads come afterwards, once there is something decent to send people to.
The other way round burns money. We cover it with real cases in why Google Ads spends and does not sell, and it is nearly always the same thing: the ad works and the page it lands on does not.
Social media, for what it is actually good for here
In a town this size social media does not conjure new customers out of thin air: it confirms the ones already looking at you. The neighbour who saw you in the group chat opens your profile, checks whether you post, whether there are faces and whether there is real work, and then decides. Two decent posts a week is plenty, and it is covered in social media for local businesses.
Your own list is what is left
Ads switch off the day you stop paying. What does not switch off is your customer list, with what each of them bought and when to get back to them. It is the most profitable thing you can set up and almost nobody keeps it in order: we explain it in CRM for a small business.
Word of mouth here is digital too
Parent groups, club groups and neighbourhood chats move far more than people think, and you do not walk into them selling, because that gets you thrown out. You get in by being the one who answers well and quickly when somebody asks. What you can do is make it easy for whoever recommends you: a short link, a message that can be forwarded and a clear price.

Marketing mistakes we see in Sant Cugat
- Advertising across all of Barcelona on a neighbourhood business budget.
- Keeping the same schedule all year when half your customers vanish in August and the other half at Christmas.
- Talking about the company instead of talking about what is happening to the person reading. That happens everywhere, but here it is punished sooner because the customer compares.

Three local examples, no names
- Set-menu restaurant. It lives off weekday lunchtimes, so the money goes between eleven and two and the weekend is switched off. A photo of the day menu posted at half ten works better than any brand campaign.
- Dental clinic. Its customer is the resident, deciding in the evening while comparing three websites and reading reviews. No rush here: be well explained, with guide prices and a first appointment that is easy to book.
- Garage. It has both audiences, which is why it needs two messages: the commuter cares about dropping the car at eight and picking it up at six; the resident cares about a fixed price explained without jargon.
Same town, three different calendars. Copying the plan of the business next door is what burns the most money, however similar it looks.
What to check every month
Four numbers, and none of them is your follower count. How many people write or call, which channel they came from, how many end up buying and how much you spent to get them. If the cost per new customer rises two months running, something has to change, and it is usually the landing page rather than the ad.
How long before it shows
Ads, days. The business profile and the map, weeks. Content and rankings, three to six months. That is why we do not run campaigns on their own: by the third month, with nothing underneath, the cost per customer starts climbing and the business is stuck paying.
What digital marketing in Sant Cugat costs
Our prices are published and do not change from town to town. The presence plans are 400, 750 and 1.500 euros a month, plus VAT and with no lock-in, with articles on your website and your Google profile, replies to every review and positioning inside the AI assistants; the 750 plan adds management of Google Ads and Meta Ads campaigns. The ad spend itself is yours and separate, and it goes to the platform, not to us.
Which budget makes sense for which kind of business is broken down in how much digital marketing costs per month, and what we do at each stage is on the digital marketing page. If the website is not ready yet, start with web design in Sant Cugat.
